Same tank, except non-starphire

The 6 foot URI VHO bulbs are 160 watts per.
3 lumenarcs cover nicely.

If you have any equipment issues, let me know, I've probably been there, done that.

CAReefer,

I love your tank. Are you going to replace it or stick with it for now?? WE have the exact same lighting set up and your colors look amazing. You have a beautiful tank.

Sean- Does that stand look familir? :-p I love it, the tank makes the room and turns peoples heads. Everyone that comes in comments on the wooodwork. Thanks again Sean!

-Mike

That stand is certainly a piece of art, fit for a museum. I have to stick with it for now, but I will be replacing it hopefully this year.

It was my pleasure. Thank you for giving me the oppurtunity. I'm glad that it is a fitting stand/canopy for such a nice tank and a beautiful home!
I'll keep watching this thread, but promise me you'll take some nice pics of the set up when it is stocked so I can add your beautiful tank to my portfolio.

Thank you CAreefer! That is one of the best compliments I could have ever gotten on my woodwork.

wow guys it has been forever. i finally got the tank running. Its doing very good.

I have 70 pounds of fiji LR in there and definetly need more!!!! I need to take some pictures. Im still messin around with the skimmer, I just need ot let it sit for a few days so i cna build up some foam. Becketts can be tricky but when they are set they work great.

Lets bring this thread back from the dead guys! Im still here, tanks still here, it has just been a really busy summer.

Picutres tonight!

This is an awesome thread man. It's perfect becuase I was in contact with Miracles (Derek) last week about having the exact same size tank built so it is cool to actually see it.

Did you find that they packaged it well for transport?
Did you have to carry it into your house sideways?

I found that the prices are very reasonable for what you get. It's awesome that they can drill and notch out the back and bottom panels and THEN temper the glass.

Do you love it so far or what?

Reef on man.

Hey MdM31,

I can almost call my tank "MdM31's smaller brother tank" because mine also was made by Derek (118g Starphire tank), I have an external overflow and my stand was made with your's and Bebo77's as inspiration. I still don't have any water in it yet, but my DIY stand is nearing it's completion.

Can't wait to see yours looks like once it's running !

Here's a link to mine:

thanks, i will check out your thread! Its pretty cool to say im a big brother of someone elses tank :)

I programmed the aquacontroller III today. Boy was that fun, but it has made everything much easier. Now I need to get it set up to my network and I am set.

Pics tonight I swear!

My new GEO needlewheel skimmer should be here monday. All the corals were bought at MACNA, and the frags were bought from reefermadness.

Sorry its been so long guys! These past months have been pretty busy!

-Mike

geoskimmer003.jpg

It has been set up since last night, and is already pulling out some gunk!

And here is a decent full tank shot.

Hope yall enjoy!

i need some actinic bulbs, that shot is xm10ks only. I am running three of them in luminarc reflectors.

enojy guys!

Grete looking tank!! I noticed in your under tank shots that you didn't paint or prime the inside of the cabinet.... Just keep an eye out for moisture and mildew buildup. Maybe a small exaust fan would provide a bit of insurance.

MdM31, Its coming along very well. I just placed an order with Derek for the same tank, With more holes for a closed loop is the only difference. Good luck with your setup and keep updating.

the stand floor and insdie of the stand were coated with polyeutherane.

thanks for the comments guys!

JW Jersey- You will love your new tank!
