So this poor chap has seen better days. Its been looking rough for a few weeks now, very little PE but had maintained its color but I just noticed some STN today. Ive made it a point in the past couple months to really hunker down and try to keep params as stable as possible, everything else appears to be doing very well.
For some time, I thought I had a high nutrient problem which was just the opposite. The only thing different I've done was feed more meaty items more often and added a couple more fish. Its only been 2 weeks and I'm already seeing colors on corals that I have never seen before (tri color acro that used to have tan branches and base is now getting purple) yet this milli is just getting worse.
Current Parameters:
SG - 1.025 (recently calibrated with new bottle)
Ph - 8.02-8.29 Apex
Alk - 8.12 (has not had a swing over .5 in 2 month) Hanna
Cal - 460 API
PO4 - 0.00 Hanna
NO3 - .5 Salifert
I'm still struggling to keep PO4 and NO3 up, but like I mentioned, I'm seeing much better color with just the extra feedings and turning off the skimmer (RO NWB 150)for a few hours a day.
Lighting has stayed the same, I stopped dosing Acropower but I've been using that for much longer than I've had this issue. The only thing I dose is Kalk via top off not enough to spike the ph.
Here's a crappy full tank shot at the moment as well...
