Mimic Lemon Peel Tang

I got this Mimic Lemon Peel Tang to get more worker bees in a tank and it got an immediate beat down from a powder brown and yellow tang. Didn't even last 5 min in the tank before fins were all torn up and it was pinned to the bottom of the tank by both killers. Had to take it out immediately and it's been in the sump recovering and doing good. Fins are all healed except for one of the pectoral fins. It eats pellets and frozen. Took a quick video of it eating and swimming. Would like $40 for it or trade for other fish that I don't already have or less likely to be killed by the other tangs. It's a juvenile on the larger size. Around 3.5-4". It's in my tiny sump in the tank at home now so would like it to be in a new larger home sooner than later. Pick up in Irvine.

I'd take that in a heartbeat Vu if I thought it would do alright in a 60 but I believe my tanks to small

1'd think 100+. Tangs need room and this one is 3.5-4" already. I'm already pushing it to the limit with a Bellus pair and the male is 3.5". Hopeful he doesn't grow quick because they're a beautiful pair.

Someone put him in your tank, save him from the sump!

Wanted to add this mimic but had second thoughts since he would be similar size to the alpha tang in my tang gang. Inspired by OP's YouTube video, here is what the trio looks like.

556,

Hard to say especially if he is your only fish. Based on the two different shapes of the tangs they should get along okay. Also my thought is to add a third tang so there is an odd number.

By now the ST has probably claimed the tank for itself.

Confuse ST by rearranging liverock and or by adding an egg crate divider somewhere in your tank.

Use the mirror trick and tape a mirror to the side.

I added 4 tangs at once to distract the PT. 3 small YT and 1 small PBT.

I used three mirrors from the 99cent store and moved around some liverock to change the main scape. Went from open swim space to a more closed scape.

Once I determined the aggression decreased the scape went back to normal and I sold 2 YTs. All that work paid off as the tangs seem to get along well.

Or you can just throw him in there and hope for the best. [emoji225]

That's a lot more my speed :)

I'm not rearranging my rock, it's epoxied together. I could do the egg crate but with the ammount of flow I have it would be tough to keep it in place. I have enough work righting blown over frag plugs as it is.
