Wonder if they really know it's being sold as the wrong thing? I guess technically or rather layman's it's a tang and it's yellow, but it's definately not a Zebrasoma flavescens...
Tropical Aquarium in Brunswick had the Mimic for less than a yellow tang as a regular price, so I'm not sure if this is a windfall or a rash of mispricing. Incidentally the mimic has done a great job battling my endless ick epidemic unlike:
-yellow tang
-powder brown tang
-blue hippo tang
All of those fell victim before they made it to a month.
I think they are lemonpeel mimic type as well based upon the way they spread out their fins. Truth be told. I have never seen one before. The behavior was really neat to observe.
it was real hard not to pick one up as i have not seen one either but I already have one tang from there in qt an absolute must when you by from there.....
I bought one at the Middleburg hts RMS about a week ago.
They where calling it a Philippine yellow tang. HAHA I kept telling them that it was a mimic tang.i even brought in my book to show them.
Philippine yellow tang does not even exist and the owner told me it would stay yellow its whole life.haha
