mimic tangs are brutes

As the title says. Read a lot about their being passive but not mine. Any new addition is harassed beyond and lately even fish he's been with for months. Just food for thought. They are aggressive tangs.

I have one in QT. A pyroferus.

He is not a dainty fish. Not many Acanthurus sp are.

You have a mimic lemonpeel or mimic half black?

I have had a Lemonpeel Mimic for a couple of years now and he's been a model citizen. He shares a 150G tank with a Powder Blue and there has never been any aggression between the two. The only aggression I've ever seen is towards the Scribbled Rabbitfish and then only when the Rabbitfish stirs the tangs up too much, they just pull him back into line.

Here's a pic of the Mimic when I first got him and what he looks like now, just because pictures are cool :)

I have the lemonpeel mimic and would love to keep it. Tried twice to reintroduce him(after putting in marine betta and having to remove the tang) but he is just too aggressive and now he is segregated in a 35 until sold. He is not going back in the DT.

Just seems to go against the grain here-marine betta not remotely close to behavior, shape or color? When introduced the the last time he went after cardinals, percs and yellow tails. It's just a bummer. Thanks for replies

LOL...I had an adult A. Pyroferus in the past and had to sell him. He was calm and cool in the beginning, but as soon as he established peeking order and got comfortable, he would slash any othere fish bigger/smaller that swam near his algae patches (everywhere) or dare to compete with him for food. He even slashed my forearm a few times when I was cleaning the DT!

Beautiful fish, but an @sshole once acclimated!
