min light for Squamosa Clam

you could potentially do it with pc's- but it would do better with as much of whatever you can afford- lots of disagreement about this, but if i weren't using halides, i go for t5's. fwiw-

55 corner, it only has about a 6 inch opening so if that clams going to be in there, its gunna be in there forever..... or should i sell it before out growing my tank?

If you only have 6 inches of space, then a clam is probably not a good idea. Squamosa and derasa clams get LARGE. With that size and kind of space, I think you would want a 150 or 175w MH bulb minimum.

not 6 inch of space, the opening is a rectangle that in about 6 inches wide and about 2ish feet long, im worried if a clam can grow over 6 inches wide other than that my tank is about 3 feet long from front to backand about 2 1/2 feet from side to side, think the clam will over grow that?

I have PC's and I keep a Derasa and Squamosa

In the wild it's estimated that some Tridacnid clams live over 100 years. In a healthy tank without disease or predation, given proper conditions, there's no telling how long they will live.
