Whats the use of phosban/phosphate remover? In a FOWL?? I thought it was for reef tanks? And how do you use this phosban stuff? Do I need a reactor? Or do I just toss it in my cannister?
my bad, i do only use it in my reef tanks filter box
too many tanks, i cant keep track
but if you would like to know, i fill a filter sock about half way with a phosphate sponge (i use kent)
i keep it in the filters box for 48 hours then i take it out and throw away the used phoshate pellets.
i rinse the sock, leave it out to dry and use it again in 3-4 weeks
but it can work out in a fowlr, because it is possible that phosphates inhibit the growth of coralline algae. so if you want alot of purple in yer tank then keep phosphates at a minimum.
i have fish only in one tank, no live rock at all, so yeah i dont use phosban in that tank
