Thanks.
You will like those MP shields. I have a 30 gal cube QT reef, use a HOB skimmer and on over flow. I need to keep surface agitation. I use a MP10 with shield at 2 inches from the top. This solve the problem and no whirlpool to suck in air.

Too bad they do not offer them for the 40.

Reluctantly I removed my Foxface because he is pecking on my clams. There are several that he keep retracted and I cannot have that. I borrow the trap from a friend. It only take a few minutes to trapped him out.
Last week I also added a Harlequin Tusk. Indopacific, only about 3.5 inches and still have juvenile coloration changing to adult. I will post picture of this beautiful fish later.

Sorry to hear about the Foxface Minh but glad to hear the tusk is still doing well! Mine is doing very well, swimming around entire tank eating anything I put in there.

Do you have issues with disappearing fish from your carpet anemones eating them?

Are your clownfish still getting along?

Beautiful setup!

Over the last year, I have lost Mandarin, Leopard wrasse, Orchid Dottyback and Fang Blennies. I guessed Mandarin but loosing the Dottyback, Leopards and Fang blennies really surprised me. I had pairs of all of these and last both of each pair. They don't do well with as many carpets as I have. These species are especially susceptible to be eaten by carpets. IMO, other species of fish like Midas Blenny or similar habit fish, Hawkfish, or similar are very susceptible. So far none of my larger fish, include my angels have any problem. The first few days, my Regal angel use my Blue carpet as a sanctuary to keep the tangs from bothering him. This almost give me a heart attack. Angels are excellent control swimmer. My Regal and Flame angels can be within a millimeter from the carpets without touching them. So far so good I have not lost a fish in the last 8 months.

My clowns are fine. They paired up but some pair are more dominate than other. There are some nipping but all of the are fat and growing. None have died in my DT but there are some torn fins now and then. I really don't want that many clowns in the tank and will try to remove them. This is not easy. I breed clowns and with tank shuffling I don't have room so they ended up in the display tank. I think I will use a red light and remove them in the middle of the night once I have space for them. I only want two or three clowns in my DT. At the most 2 pairs. I really don't like to see fish other than at their best. Torn fins is a problem for me.

Thanks.

Hey Minh, just wanted to say how great your tank is looking. Everything seems to be very healthy and looking good. Do you QT your fish? If so, what is your procedure? My tank is currently fallow as I have lost 8 of my 15 fish due to a velvet outbreak.

Sorry I did not see this until noe. I don't QT my fish. I keep them in my frag tank and in the sump make sure that they are well fed and gain weight before I release them into the DT. I don't add obviously sick fish into my system but a little ich is not problem. The live in my live sand bed seem to take care of the problem (I think they live sand have organism that will eat the Ich tomites like it is in the wild) and they go spot less in a few days, never pass the ich to my other fish.
I do QT my corals, anemones and clams but not fish.
