mini featherdusters

is there any good way to get rid of mini featherdusters? I have some really small ones with brown crowns that came in as hitchhikers... its starting to spread and pulling it off with tweezers does not seem to help. A few days later they are back... is there any way to get the rock clear short of boiling or any other extreme treatment?

Why on earth would u want to kill the harmless(and handsome) filter feeders? Most people like them. And no, ther is nothing that eats them with any degree of certenty (also my longnose butterfly destroyed nearly all when he arrived and before he figured out where the prep food comes from. Fortunately for him, he lost this unvelcome interested and some regenerated, as otherwise i'd surely get rid of him).

Is it possible you're looking at some kind of hydroid and not feather dusters? the brown ones have a similar appearance of crown and reaction to disturbance as dusters, but lack the elongated tube to live in and appear to come right out of the rock.

Try some kalk paste over them?

they have a small stalk but they dont close up when touched they just kind of shrivel into a little stalk with a ball
