Hi Drfs,
I have a question concerning this setup, I am wondering would the lights turn on if I only installed one pc bulb? I would like to use the actinic lights for viewing corals here and there but not for the main lighting. And do the actinics have enough power lighting lighting for lets say polyps to open to view?? for low light corals?

Thank you for contacting us with your questions. This item will fire with only one bulb in the fixture. In a small aquarium this would be enough light for the polyps to open. A good recommendation would be to purchase an extra 9 watt actinic bulb giving you 18 watts of light.

Thankyou for the fast response, I am going to use this on a 45g bowfront 18high and 30 long just for viewing not as the main lighting. Thanks for the advice.
