Minimum quarantine time?

You do not have to cycle the QT. Just keep up with ammonia monitoring, and do small water changes daily. An ammonia badge works good so you do not have to keep doing ammonia tests.

Small percent water change will not reduce ammonia significantly

Sometimes ammonia can surge suddenly when decayable starts to decay

Cycling is as easy as one wc for most; for me it is easier than one wc.

Proper qt is a lengthy process

Wc or prime is not the way

I understand your point. The problem is, the OP already has fish in an uncycled QT. At this point, he is stuck with the non-cycle method of QT.

For the OP, here is a great thread about QTs. It will explain both methods of setting up a QT. A permanent one, and the emergency method. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2195588

Highly advise reading at least the first page or two of the above mentioned thread. It's where I learned everything about the QT process I know

As I suggested, the op's best approach now is TTM with prime or amquel
and wc

But starting a cycle now is a good idea for possible failure of TTM when ich is allowed into dt, and other reasons.
