Minor wound on fish in QT

I picked up a powder blue tang from a local reefer and it has a small abrasion which I assume occurred while netting him. The tang is in a QT tank and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and treat with a pima/melafix combo just in case. My original plan was to prophylactically treat with CP for 30 days and do two rounds of prazipro but I know these won't do anything for a potential bacterial or fungal infection on a wound. I'd also like to avoid using copper if possible.

Any thoughts or other suggestions?

You might use Stress Coat. Do watch your aeration. Stress Coat will increase slime coat, which is a kind of natural bandage. If any redness, consider that evidence of infection, and treat. Copper is not a med: it's a poison for parasites.

You might use Stress Coat.

Does SeaChem Prime work well for this purpose? It looks like it's a fairly equivalent product to API's Stress Coat. Don't know if there's something else in Stress Coat that makes it superior for this particular use though.
