Missing Chromis

Tank cycled a month ago first fish I added was a blue/green chromis. Everything was going great so I recently added 2 clowns, orange stripe prawn goby, engineer goby, and tiger pistol none of these fish are more then a 1 1/2"

I own a 240 gallon tank all my parameters are good came home today and missing chromis.

I do not have a top on the tank yet, but have read chromis are not jumpers however, is it possible that the clowns bullied him out or the pistol got a hold of him. Should I worry about if he's dead in the tank having some kind of spike.

BTW if he did jump I own 2 dogs so most likely he was a snack.

In a 240 I would say no because I lost one in a 55 and nothing happened but then again mine was stable so my best advise would be keep looking but if you don't find him it should be fine.

I know somebody that didn't see one of his fish for 18 months, and then it turned out he was in the sump, fish that small can go for a ride and end up in a lot of places, especially in a tank that large. I wouldn't think there was a lot of bullying because there should be a ton of hiding places in a tank that large

yep check your overflow and sump, socks if you use em, I just found one of my 2" clowns had gone over the overflow(HOB style) down 6 feet of pvc and into on of my filter socks, luckily I found him and day one put him back and he is fine.

I am now making a new screen top that also covers the overflow.

Like others said, check all the nooks and crannies....but they can and will jump. I lost 2 to jumping myself.
