Missing Clown

Have any of you guys ever had a clown go missing? One of mine went missing yesterday and cant find him any where. They are a "bonded" pair, could possibly they laid eggs and the missing on is tending to the nest? I hope that is the case.

Thanks,

Brian

How big is the tank? If you "can't find it anywhere" then something is wrong. Search in the overflow box and the sump and the floor.
A clown wouldn't go missing even if it's laying egg.

that's sad, i hope you find your nemo. i had a boxfish went missing a couple of days ago and found out the dude was wrapped in a bubble like gel thing. the gel bubble was formed from my understanding of the bacteria. perhaps look for a gel bubble?

I hope he/she is hiding cuz with out them next to each other, i cant tell what one is the female and what one is the male.

If he/she doesn't turn up and you want to replace him/her then make sure the replacement is a juvenile - a smaller one from a tank with several clowns in it. That way you don't run the risk of having female/female confrontations.

Sorry to hear that Brian.
Clowns are not known to be jumpers. There must be something that is making it jumped out of the tank. Usually, it's from the bullying and harassment from other tankmate(s).

I've had clowns go missing before. They were killed by their clown tank-mates. Never found him.

Just wanted to take a minute to note that I was cleaning behind my tank this weekend and found a smallish clown all dried up on the floor. Must have been there for months. So nobody ate him; he just went carpet diving.
