Missing Fish Mantis???

Well I hear a popping noise in my tank at times and if I take the cleaner magnet and tilt it and let it go and make a low popping noise. 9 times out of ten I get a reply would a mantis do something like that. I'm all so missing a lot of blue leg hermits and a blennie a gobie and a mandarin. I did put some new live rock in a year ago. could it be??? I have never seen one in my tank but there is a lot of room and unfortunately I cant see the bottom of my tank to look for a cave or something.

Yes it sounds a little strange but it happens. just wondering if they communicant or worn off others this way.

As far as I know mantises communicate through actions and visual signals (such as meral threats) and there are only two known mantises that make noise besides hitting. Pistol shrimp communicate through pops.

If fish are dissapearing it's probably a mantis.

The problem I have with the whole situation is I have never seen it but I just was at the tank and popped the magnet and I received a reply I JUST DON'T KNOW!!!

I have never seen or heard a stomatopod respond to a pop by striking.

On the other hand, snapping shrimp do this all the time.

I have seen it's blood red looks like a blood red shrimp any opinion on the type
