Missing peppermint shrimps

So, we have a newish system 80g bow, and have just one maroon clown in it. We had aiptasia, so we put in three peppermint shrimps about a week ago. Since then, we've been unable to find them!

Possibilities: gone over/through our weir/overflow box and into our sump? (It's a normal one... but I guess they *could* have gone through the slits of jumped over the top???)

There's nothing to eat them in the tank; we have turbo snails, hermit crabs, and one fish. Our aquascape is aged rocks, but set in open format with some overhangs for them... I don't *think* they can be hiding... but...

Are they just invisible?

They are invisible. I have one in my 12 that I never see. Try taking a flashlight, preferably with a red lens and go on a night hunt. That's the only time I ever see mine.

after the tank lights are off, you can just leave the room lights on and they'll come out foraging, feed the tank and they'll come out even quicker and they're less skiddish then with the flashlight, mine will even come take chunks of silversides off a skewer stick.

If you accumilated well then it could be there adjusting to the enviroment and hideing. Also after they are added in a new system and will shed then they also hide casue they are more valrible without the armor.

I see mine every other month maybe less. I didn't even know I still had them both until I took all the rock out of my tank hunting for a crab.

Rejoice with me! I woke up this morning to find a shed peppermint shrimp exoskeleton on top of my live rock tower. These little guys are not only alive... they're growing out of their skins!
