Missing Wrasse

My pink velvet jumped the other night and was acting strange since I saved his life. Today he cannot be found, looked everywhere outside the tank and no luck. Its amazing how a 5 inch fish can get lost in a 36" box. I'm sure he jumped or died and my clean up crew did a great job of cleaning up.

they do jump so anything other than a 1/4 hole top will be risking your fish. Probably died and went to cleanup crew heaven.

Are you sure he isn't buried in the sand bed "if you have one" thats where my yellow Coris sleeps at. He might have got spooked from the jumping incident and might stayed burried for a time.

Exactly. Both fairy and flasher wrasses form a mucous cocoon to sleep which isolates their smell from potential predators.

No, he doesn't sleep in the sand, I have a yellow coris that does. I have 1/4" hole screening and he found the one slightly larger gap. He actually survived the jump but 2 days later he is missing. I'm sure the clean up crew had a nice feast.
