Missing Yellow Coris Wrasse

Well it's almost been a week and I have not seen my new Yellow Coris Wrasse.. I mean not a peep since I put him in last week. Do these guys bury themselves in the sand? Can they resist feeding time and not even pop there little heads out for RODS? I have a canopy so jumping out is almost impossible and there is no sign of it out side of the tank or in the overflow or sump.. . I guess he could have died and become shrimp and crab food behind the rocks.. I guess I will just have to wait it out.

It will show up. Don't go digging thru the sand.
Mine went missing for almost a week when first intoduced & then over a year later was missing for over a month.

I had one that would back up into a piece of PVC tubing, with just his nose sticking out. I did not see him for a week at a time since the pipe was hidden by rocks, until I was walking by the tank late at night and realized he came out feeding when the lights were off..except for some led moonlights..and then he scooted back to the pipe. I have not seen him for months so I think either a green brittle star or a coral banded shrimp cornered him in the pipe....

I love when I Google topics and old CMAS threads pop up!

I added a Yellow Coris last Friday... he was out for a little while on Saturday, but the Melanurus was bothering him a bit. He disappeared before I had a chance to feed, and I haven't seen him since... it's been 5 days. I see a lot of people post about missing wrasses, and then they show up... hoping for the same result! :)

It's an in-wall with mesh-screen top. I did check the fish room and the overflows without finding anything. I suppose that's good news, but I hate "not knowing" when a fish disappears!

when i first introduce mine it went missing for over a week. One day it popped up. I scared it then it went mia for a few more days then showed up. Finally eating now. Once they get use to the habitat it will be ok.
