Orion fan

Orion fan

These fans are quieter than the Icecap fans with the temperature probe. I would absolutely recommend these fans.

you can get the Orion OA109 fans for about $14 at Allied Electronics.

Nice tank Demeter. I like the stand and canopy. You asked a question about electrical earlier. I'm running pretty similar equipment to you, maybe a little more demanding and I only pull 8.2 Amps at max load. You should be fine for electrical capacity. You might want to find out what outlets are on the same circuit as the tank and make sure you don't plug the vacuum into one of them. :eek2:

I was just looking at Allied's site. Do these fans come wired with a standard 3 prong plug or do you have to order that separately?

Thanks.

Brian

They do not and you'll have to order those seperately. You can just order the fans and go to Lowes or HD and buy the 0.99 cent extension cord and splice the wires.

You must have got some bad fans from Icecap! I have 2 in my canopy one blowing in and the other blowing out. I can not hear mine running at all.

I also own an Icecap fan. If you think that Icecaps are quiet, than great. Most other people think that they are loud, especially when compared to some of the better, but more importantly, CHEAPER!!!! fans that are available. For the cost of those 2 Icecaps, you could have almost 6 Orion fans that combined will move as much air as the Icecaps (running at full speed) but they will do it much quieter.

Yeah but will they last in the long run? That is the question!
I've had more problems with my Icecap fans than I have with either my Dayton or Orion fans. Both are quieter and cost less than the Icecaps. Icecaps are not worth the money IMO/IME.

I'd have to agree. I removed an Icecap fan with the probe in favor of the Orion fan since the Orion is quieter.
