Mithrax crab causing trouble?

I have a couple also and have no problems with them. It may be that there just isnt much algae for them to eat which is why they started munchin on your corals as you said

Being a big fan of my invertebrate friends, my experience has been relatively positive with the emeralds. I have witnessed them pruning my corals, not necessarily because they are eating it, but instead combing it for something they find tasty (like algae). They just are a bit careless in doing so. Agressive little sh$ts when it comes to feeding times too. I have a video of one big one going all King Kong with the tangs when I put in an algae clip. Funniest thing I have ever seen!

You need to post that vid.
Mine used to do as yours does Mike, and not really bother the corals. Then, I watched him begin breaking the tips off of some of my stags and digis, and proceed to peel the tissue off. Once I saw what was causing the trouble, he got evicted later that night.
