Mitras 6200HV available plus upgrade options

We are pleased to announce the newly launched Mitras 6200HV is now available for pre order. Price as before $1,199.00

The difference is in the blue component - more blue is available in the spectrum.

For current 6100HV owners as the cost is high for the upgrade as it does involve changing all 6 arrays we are going to offer this out for now anyway at my landed cost, zero profit for moi but keeping the people happy that do want this feature the cheapest possible option.

We do not normally do anything direct but this is a unique case and to benefit all our current users.

So if interested the upgrade pre order price is $249.00 per lamp. (plus a few dollars in shipping)

what do you consider a deep tank and how difficult is it to swap out the arrays?

i'd seriously consider doing the upgrade for my 3 lamps.... and i haven't even run them over a tank yet..

and is the extra blue a different blue than the existing leds or is it a new colour?

Yes its easy to do, too easy to be honest

Depth - 30" plus but of course effective as the 6100 on lower depths due to customization of your lamps output.

If you have a 6100 HV and a 6200 HV, I'm guessing that they have to be controlled separately? That is, they cannot be set up as master and slave?

Looks like the 6200 will be a better unit for reef tanks as you will be able to run them on full power without getting the red/pink colour of the 6100 at full power.

Hi AQD, appreciate the information.

I currently have 2 6100s on each end of a 6 foot, 31 inch deep reef tank and am looking to purchase the last Mitra for the middle – would you suggest a 6100 or a 6200?

My concerns are (1) Colour differences with the 6100 at the ends and the 6200 in the middle (2) Programming issues – having to program both sets individually.

As an aside, can a Profilux control both sets?

if you are happy with the colour then there is no reason to change at all.
