Mitras 8 inches above water

I just lowered my Mitras to 8 inches over the tank. I did this because I supplement with 4 t5 (2 on each side) due to tank being 32x32x24. I had all the lights 12 inches above the tank but felt that was too high for the t5. With the t5 off the led looks like it still has a nice spread that covers the whole tank. My question is, are there any negatives to having the Mitras 8 inches above the tank instead of 12?

if you can assure no splashing then I do not see an issue but the spread is big and power also you should not need it this close
