Mix and matching

I would like to add a pair of clowns to my 40g. I originally wanted to buy a pair of ORA semi-snowflakes but with $150 per fish thats a little pricey, I also like the look of the ORA naked clowns. Both naked and snowflake are listed as A. ocellaris, is this correct? would I be able to keep a Naked and a snowflake as a pair?

As long as you're combining the same species, and only two at that, mix away to your heart's content.

So the ORA naked clownfish will not get along with ANY other clownfish.. i originally put him in the tank with the semi snowflake, both at the same time, the naked started beating the living crap out of the snowflake till he almost died.. Since then they have been separated. Now i tried to add a false perc to the tank with the Naked and same situation. They have been fighting for the last hour.. The new false perc is very healthy and can hold his own against the naked. At some point will this stop? I have observed clownfish dominance to determine who's boss, but this is like a fight to the death. Any input on this?

Get a little clear plastic HOB critter cage to put one of them in and let them get used to the idea of being in the same tank together for a week or so.

Mix and matching

I've got a naked and orange and white, and mine is the opposite. The naked is a big wuss getting pushed around and always shaking to submit, lol. Nothing too overly agressive, just them sorting it out.

Hopefully yours will get it figured out. They close to the same size?
