Mixed Reef Flow Setup Help!

Well my SPS plans have gone out the window so I'm planning to do a mixed reef (Budget constraints etc).

I was thinking of getting between 20-30x flow as I have a few SPS, a bunch of LPS and even some softies. Is this too much flow for a mixed reef?

The tank is 150g 4x2x30" tall. I was thinking I could get a tunze 6000+controller and a 6080 or something? Would that work well (to have slightly uneven flow but one on a wave controller)

Any opinions welcome! Maybe this is too much flow already?

Thanks a lot RC!!

it's all about the type of flow you have, not the amount. wide spread flow like the Tunze Streams put out is very tolerant to most every coral as long as it's not directly in front of it a few inches, my 180g has 82x turnover and is mixed reef with no problems.

Wow! Your tank is very beautiful!!

I was under the impression some LPS struggle under high flow situations (unless you create dead zones).

Also - I'm hoping to aim for less flow to save $. I wanted to get 2x Tunze+wavemaker but I think it's out of budget now.

I was also a bit worried about having only a 4' tank.

Argh I'm so confused! What would you recommend for my tank? Do you think 6100s+controller would be great?

Also - do you use a wavemaker with those? I think a wavemaker would mean less than actual flow since they'll be going up/down in flow.

i use a 7094 controller on the 6100s with both pumps on and set in pulse mode, 100% for 3 min, 30% for 3 min, and ever few months I'll flip them to tide mode with 7 min swapping intervals between the Streams (and keeping the 3 min pulses). Closed loop is a ReeFlo Hammerhead and about 1000gph on the return, i don't have any direct blasting flow on anything just allot of volume. I've got no dead spots and no jet blast areas either.

I've ran 2x 6100s on the 7094 in a 4' 75g system before with great results too, again it's allot of volume but not direct blasting flow.
