Mixing Angels and adding Anthias questions

My DT is 270g and is home to naso, achillies, regal tang, purple tang, majestic angel, regal angel, copperband and marine beta, I have had all of these fish for a year, some more and all are doing well. This tank is connected to a 100g sump/fuge, 65g sump and 40g sump, in my 100g sump I have 2 juvenie regal angels and a small rusty angel, all getting along with the smaller of the 2 regals having a great respect for the larger. I have a group of anthias waiting at the store. On to the questions to the experts.

In adding my regals to the display which will be done with the use of QT boxes, when should the anthias go in, when the angels are release from boxes?

I haven't had very good luck in the past qting anthias, should I try, they have been at the store for a week and are eating well?

I can run my 100g sump seperate from the display, should I add the anthias there and hypo?

Does a week at the store eliminate the chance the anthias have velvet? I don't want to loose my beautiful fish but also don't want to loose the anthias in QT. I was told anthias are very resistant to ich, true?

No it does not eliminate the threat of disease, you should Q and not the store as the systems are different, Some anthias may have apartial immunity to whitespot but they may still carry it without showing and hence infect your established fish.

I am afraid Quarantine is a must and best for you to do it than the store.

if they're going in there for 3 weeks i see it's doable. Your LFS probably only put them in a 20 gallon tank so you're good to go. Just watch you water parameters. Make sure the Ammonia is not too high. Cycle the QT first before introducing it so there is some sort of beneficial bacteria. I usually QT my fish for 3 weeks in Cupramine at 0.4MG/L compare to the recommended 0.5MG/L for 2 weeks.

I qt'd 3 dispars in a 20L, if the 40 is well established I think it's doable as well, but I'd start adding fishfood to the 40 before acquiring the anthias to build up the bacteria load.

QT your fish regardless what your LFS says. If they can survive the QT period, then they're worthy of being added to your DT. You've got a nice selection of fish there and I'd hate to see them get infected. I QT'd 5 dispars in a 20 gallon, but only left with 3 now. 2 of them didn't make it past the Cupramine treatment even at low dosage. Some fish are more sensitive then others. Just make sure to do weekly water changes and monitor your copper dosage (I would keep it at a low dose).

i lost all 4 carberryi anthias on my 5th week of hypo. that was pretty aggravating. they were just dropping 1 by 1 each day during the 5th week. i was wanting to do 6 weeks.

this was in a 2ft long 17g. i think a 40g is fine for 9 anthias.

Yeah, I don't always hear what I want to either. Do you really want to take a chance on losing all your great fish because you don't want to Qt for 3 weeks?
Did you QT the Regals in a separate QT tank? Three Regals? This could be a real problem. Unless a mated pair, these fish don't like each other at all.
