Mixing Maldives and African lyretail anthias

Im looking to add a few lyretail to my tank. I have a trio 1m, 2f maldive lyretail anthias.

Can I add lyretails from Africa without issue?

Anyone successfully had them together?

I have and had no issues.

You should have no issue. I've mixed Indo's and Maldive's before without issue.

Is there even any color differences between the variants? Back in the old days we just called them Indian Ocean lyretails.

Males somewhat... females, from that area, not really IMO.

IMO I just find that Indian Ocean Lyretails colors are more vibrant...the females just appear to be a deeper orange with a darker blue around the eyes and the males with the golden sides....here are pics of my males...didn't have them at the same time and only have the Indian now....
