Mixing percs....

Would it be possible to keep either a true perc or a onyx perc with a Picasso (since they're all "true" percs)?
Would there be any chance of them mating?

Yes. They are all the same species. I have a semi Picasso/Perc that I'm pairing up now. All is going well.

wouldn't pairing a Picasso and an onyx possibly produce more distinct black patterns for the offspring?

i was actually thinking about doing the same thing as you...pairing a picasso with an onyx...was going to pair an ORA picasso with a Rod's onyx...but at the time, rod wasn't ready to sell his onyx yet...i think he's just now starting to sell some again...seen a few people with new fishes from rod...anyways, i was trying to get a darker picasso by doing that pairing...ended up getting an ORA picasso pair instead...wasn't patient enough to wait for a rod's onyx...
