Mixing too quick?

How slow should I add my salt to my makeup water? If I fill my container with 30g of RO how slow should I add my salt? Does doing it too fast change anything?

Wait is this your top-off? if so you shouldn't be adding salt as that will raise your SG. but if we're talking waterchanges then just dump it in and throw a powerhead in to mix it for a few minutes

I was thinking I may have read something long ago about calcium/alk being affected by adding salt to the water too quickly?

You can add it directly to the water at whatever rate you like. Just make sure you are adding salt to the water, and not water to the salt.
