MJ Mods for 90 gal

I'm setting up a 90 AGA reef ready and I'm thinking of using 2 or 3 MJ Mods for my flow. The tank is going to be mostly LPS with some softies and SPS. I was leaning towards 2 900 mods pointing toward each other from the sides and a 600 mod in the center of the back glass pointing straight towards the front glass. Does this sound good or should I go to two 1200's and a 900. Thanks for any ideas.

The more flow the better if you are going SPS. Maxi-jet mods should be plenty. I would do 1200's and a 900. But if you can spare the $$ get Tunze or seio. Actually seio's are pretty cheap and support a lot of flow.

I T'd the Megaflow return to the tank. Off the T, I have Loc-Line nozzles firing towards both front corners at a slight angle. Powerhead-wise, I have a MJ 1200 in the back left corner firing towards the middle of the tank. I have an AquaClear 50 in the back right corner firing into the middle area as well. In my 90, I had a MJ 900 in the back middle firing towards the front but I removed it b/c it wasn't necessary.

i am about too use two seio M1100 in my 90g AGA rr..

havent turned them on yet.. but heres what they look like with the suregrips.

for two m100s and two suregrips 100's it was all like 180

Seios and tunzes are not options. I will be using 2 or 3 MJ mods I just don't know which combination would be best. Thank you for the comments so far.

unless your BB with tons of sps, 2-3 modded MJ's wont be needed. 2 modded 900's would be over 3k gph. i would go for maybe one 900 and 2 seios at most.

I recently took the seios out of my 90 gallon

I had 2 620's and 2 2600's
I hated them they took up way to much room and were so ugly

I modded 3 maxi 1200's
it seems to me they move just as much water as the sieo 2600's
with half the size and 1/3 the electric

but anyway my tank is a 90 gallon bare bottom with three modded 1200's and I think its about all the flow the tank can handle
I have no softies or lps
all sps

so with the return and the 3 maxi's im getting around 6650gph
or 74x turnover


oh yeah anyone want to buy any sieos have all four listed available for sale.....

How can I figure out what is the GPH that these mods produce?

Im just going by the 2000gph they rated them at on mj mods.com

they said for a 900 1600gph
and for the 1200 2000gph

I believe the rating they state these things are great!!!
I'll take them over sieos anyday

Ok since its going to be a mixed reef and I don't have any SPS to put in at the start I think I'll start with 2 900 mods. As I acummulate SPS I'll add more if necessary. Thanks for all the input. Fred:strooper:

Carefull with the LPS. I had to move my hammer and candycanes around, till I found a spot where they weren't getting blown away.
