MJ Sure Flow 1600 call for help

Alright, I'm on the slow boat for setting up another 75 gallon reef, and I just purchased 2 maxijets 1200 with the sure flow mods and I tested them out in a tank filled with tap water and every 5 minutes or so the props would want to spin the opposite direction making this loud clunking noise until it corrects itself and spun the right direction. The sure flow came with 2 props one was for 1600 gph and the other was for 2100 gph. I swapped both around thinking that it had to do with the prop but it still does it.

Has any one experienced this problem and how do I fix it???

Thanks
Jimmy

Use that same prop on a koralia 4 and get over 3000 gph out of it
Plus there is a very simple fix for the k's to handle the klunking noise:

they all do that, keep turning the shroud till it doesnt do that anymore.

I'll try doing that.

I wish I could turn back the clock and get the K4s but it seems I'm stuck with these.

Well I found something pretty promising. I hot glued the prop to the magnet to keep it from sliding forward and it seems to be doing the trick. (It's been running for about 2 hours with no noise. [Fingers still crossed]

Keep me posted on how it goes I still have my @#!&% thing would be nice to use it good flow, just to much buzzing for me.

Well I think my findings were premature. although one is extremely quiet now. the other one is now making a soft rumbling noise every 30-45 minutes. I wonder if that will go away during the break in period (get a nice slime coat over everything)
