"Mocha" clownfish

Is a "mocha" clownfish a real thing? I purchased a new clownfish, what I thought to be a standard orange/white ocellaris, locally bred. However when I got it home with my other Ocellaris, I noticed it is much darker than him. It's a juvenile but not quite as dark as a juvi b/w from what I've seen. I asked about it when I went back in and they said it was the offspring of an o/w and a b/w Ocellaris. I was told somewhere else it was a "mocha", so here I am trying to get some facts. Is there a name for a clownfish that is bred from a b/w and o/w ocellaris? What will it look like?

You can see a pic of mine next to the regular o/w in my avatar.

Here's a bigger pic. Will he lighten up? Darken? Stay the same? He's still very small and so is his friend there.

it is a juvi occellaris clownfish. it may be a cross with a bw but it is also common for some to just naturally be darker. regardless, very nice fish.

There actually is a "mocha" ocellaris clownfish. It's just a cross between the regular orange ocellaris and the black or Darwin morph, which results in the darker chocolate-brown coloring.

I have fry like this from a black & white o cross with a black and white o with an orange face. ORA sells them as "Moca" but I belive that they are just black & white o's that haven't darkened up yet

My female looked like that and got a little darker, then lightened up. It is now orange. As everyone said above, it could be a B&W that hasn't darkened up yet or it could go orange, or it could stay that way. Mine was that color for a year before changing.

yes there are such a thing. heres a couple pictures of my mochas.there really more brown then black. yes everyone is correct about being a cross of ocellaris and black& white ocellaris. first picture is with actinics on, they almost look black!

as far as your fish goes could be? i guess your lfs should know from the breeder he bought them from.

Here is a picture of my clowns when the female (bottom) was dark. I will have to take a current picture, but she is as orange as the male in this picture (top).

So I was going to take a picture of my female and I noticed that she darkened up. I lost my male in my move last year. I replaced the male a couple weeks ago and noticed today that they are showing strong signs of pairing up. Maybe the coloring has to do with that. The other possibility is that I have been feeding a little extra lately to get her in mating shape. So it could be the food.
