Modified Durso question

So I made this durso and Im having some issues. I used 1" fittings and schedule 40 -i think- slim pipe...This pipe has a wall thickness that is slightly thinner than regular PVC. -maybe 2-3cm?

It seems to be creating back pressure and surging every 60-90 seconds...At times the water level in the overflow will just surge once and then level out just below the 90...The downpipe into my bubble-box is submerged less than 3" from the water level and Im running a Mag 7 w/ 1/2" return line...The air feed is fitted with an air-tight valve and the riser is adjustable...I cant seem to dial it in. Any thoughts??

Those valves are terrible. The only way to use them is to drill the inside out to get more air flow. I had to enlarge the I.D. on my old air valve and still couldnt get enough air flow through it to stop the surges. I just use an open hole where the air valve is and adjust my return ball valve. Hope this helps.

It will also help to place a gate valve on the drain line and dial it down so only a small amount of air is getting sucked in. Reduces the noise considerably.

Well me, Pete and Bobby figured it out...Did just about everything mentioned~! Its nice and quite right now so Im happy~!

Thanks for the sugestions guys~~!
