Modify existing acrylic tank?

What is the feasibility of cutting this tank down to 6 or 4 feet?
Would it be structurally sound?
Would it be display quality?
Would it depend on the location of the top's cutouts?

Thanks for humoring me and my wild notions.

It could be done, but the risks in doing so wouldn't be worth it. Unless you know how to work with acrylic, or can find someone on here willing to help. The biggest problem would be insuring extremely accurate cuts and a perfect seam.

Why would you want to cut it down? An 8 foot Reef tank would be the bomb. It's also a steal for that price like the other tank you just picked up XD

That was exactly my thoughts. It was be extremely difficult.

Agreed, that size is sweet, but I only have a 6 foot wall to use for an aquarium setup.

I would not try such an undertaking myself. I was hoping a member is or knows an acrylic pro that could do this

Bored - it would be easier to extend your wall. I don't know who I would trust to cut the acrylic down to the correct size.

dang it's in campbell... that's quite some way from loomis. Can you say OSCARS? It's about 275 gallons
