Modifying my stand?

hello,
So when i set up my 120 i have a 30 gallon tank as my sump that i put in when setting it up. I cant fit it in and out using the two doors on my stand and i want to upgrade to a sump/refugium. I could braeak my glass 30 to get it out(i dont mind doing that) but then i have no way to get my next one in(that ive yet to purchase) Any one ever modify their stand and put a door on the side? Then i can put in in and out as i choose and have beter access to under my tank. I bought the set up from TRS in rochester. Its a regular standard black stand,with two doors on the front, i think its oceanic. Thin wood,so im nervous just going to town and adding a door with out asking.
Any one ever add a door to a factory stand? Suggestions?

I would post a few pics of the inside and outside of the stand.

IMO, I wouldn't cut into the stand with a full 120g DT above.

I had the same stand. I wouldn't cut the sides, but if you wanted to remove the piece that one of the doors is attached to you will be fine. Look underneath the stand, it's literally on there with a staple at the top and provides 0 structural support. All of the weight is down on the 4 corner ledges. HTH

the triangle glue blocks are the backbone of the stand. you could modify with help from someone w building exp. i wouldn't. i'd build a homeade stand or repurpose a kitchen island or similiar . joe's in your neck of the woods. custom stand/at factory prices.

yea, ill try to get pics up later or tomorrow of the stand in and out. The doors are just on by hinges so i if i take one or both off it does not give me any more room. And the divider in between the doors is not removable either. When my other tank leaked and i set this one up i was in a hurry (didnt want anymore fish or corals to die/suffer) and thought of it while setting it back up but figured id deal with this when i go to it... My mistake. Should have taken the extra day to do it right then. I might see about framing out under the tank for more support then making another door. OR make the front divider in between the doors removable for in the future,after i re-support the stand/tank.
I wont do anything until i get some opinions after i post pics.
