Mogul Base Sockets question

I Have a couple of sockets that im using with my 175 watt ballasts. Are these same sockets good with 250 watt ballasts?

Mogul is techincally a size of socket, so what you have might not be rated for more that 175w. But assuming you have the standard procelin mogul sockets that are most common in our industry, you will be fine up to 400w. I am using a 250w bulb in the fixture I originally had a 175w bulb in. I would be careful if you decide to go to 1000w, but otherwise IMO you will be fine.

Thanks, it is a Porcelin socket. And i deff dont plan on getting a 1000w!!!!

You will not have any fire problems switching from 175w to 250w with a mogul socket... As stated you can easily switch up to a 400w by just changing the Bulb and Ballast...
