Mold question

Curious on whether our floor and wall soaking that have happened over the years are concerns for mold behind the walls? I had someone once tell me that because of the salt in the water that it wasn't a problem????

While this makes sense, I'm not sure it's entirely correct. The flooding we saw on Long Island from Sandy two years ago was salt water and mold was definitely an issue for people here.
I have not found mold problems in my house, and it's not something you read about here every day, so maybe there's something about the amount of saltwater, and how long stuff stays wet, but I don't see salt as a cure for mold.
