Ok.. so you all know I'm still pretty new to this hobby, and I'm amazed at what I learn sometimes... tonight was one of those nights. A few weeks ago I purchased a electric blue legged hermit crab. It's been all over the tank, today I see the shell on top of a rock and what I thought was the dead crab in the bottom of the tank. I moved its shell to the floor of the tank and proceeded to pick out the legs and white matter attached. On my way back from the garbage can I see the shell moving and the crab legs sticking out. You ever have those moments where time stands still for a second, where you mouth hangs open and your brain can't process anything other then "what the?". When I finally snapped back, my first thought was holy crap, there were two crabs in that shell, I got a deal!! LOL..thats where your helpful links to some sights taught me all about molting. Who knew! I've decided to keep it my secret, so next time I can watch my husband make that discovery!
