molting questions

just wondering what the average time period is for a smithii to complete a molting and is it best just to leave the tank lights off till he opens up the burrow. my smithii closed up on sunday and hasn`t appeared since. is this normal, he was eating like a pig before he closed up.

I started to try to answer your question and got carried away, so their is a general answer in the thread that I started this morning on molting. Adult G. smithii (6 cm) normally remain closed for about a week. Lights on or off should not matter.
