Monitoring RO TDS ????

I understand that I am able to monitor my TDS from my RO/DI system. What additional equipment is required to do this? I have a Profilux Plus II extended. In addition, does the manual cover this process?

If your profilux Plus II had a TDS meter you'd know it. So you can add a TDS meter for under $30. It will attach in two spots to your system, one to measure the water in and one to measure the outgoing water. Gotta have one if you plan on monitoring the quality of your RO water.

This is the GHL Profilux Forum isn't it? That last post sounded as if I do not have a clue of what is going on. I have TDS meters two of them as a matter of fact. I am quite aware how they work. My tank is at my office and I monitor through the web if you have a profilux then you know its capabilities.

I do not know if it can or does.

The reason I am asking is that someone has done some research and discovered that the profilux can monitor TDS. Yet I have not heard back from him yet so I thought I would check this forum.

Yes you can, depending on what ProfiLux you have and if you are already monitoring salinity it depends on what probe and expansion you require.

The probe for conductivity to use is the graphite version using 1.41mS calibration.

For conductivity, you will need the expansion card, also the graphite probe, and 1.41 calibration then you are all set.

I think this is much better than a TDS meter; I can now keep the probe calibrated. I have seen TDS meters side by side with two very deferent measurements.

we are starting to bring this expansion in if anyone wants one please tell us now as our monthly order goes into GHL tomorrow (Tuesday)

if you are already using your salinity port you need

PLM-CondF
GHL Conductance probe Graphite
1.41mS solution

IF your not using your salinity port you just need the probe, and yes the platinum probe is dual useage, however the graphite probe can only be used in fresh water not both.

We do suggest if using any of the expansion cards to get a dual card such as PLM-CondF/pH so one slot is used for two probes types.
