Monster skimmer... check this out.

Yep, very impressive.

Have you seen the skimmers at WEEC? Or better yet, the one at Tennessee Aquarium? Cleaning the skimmer is a task saved for their new volunteers ;)

I saw some pics of the skimmers at Georgia Aquarium so I could imagine. Poor volunteers lol

Maybe it's just me but I would rather clean one of those badboys (I do on a regular basis) than clean out a bucket of bad fish food. Maybe my nose is getting used to skimmer nog but 3lbs of small krill accidentally left in the fridge for a week..... eeeewwwww!

Still, not eactly a picnic when you draw skimmer duty and your day starts out searching for a ladder and a garden hose.

Here's a pic I took of the one used at the Gatlinburg Aquarium. It was massive! I cant wait to see what they are using at the new Aquarium in ATL.

We have a skimmer that is about 7' tall and 2' wide that we use on our Freshwater system at Petsmart. I don't know how, but it pulls out a lot of gunk.

It is made by ASA down in Tampa.

Our entire system was about $80,000. We don't do saltwater, but dangit we are going to do all we can to keep the freshwater fish happy!
