Just trying to find out how many people from Montana are on the forum. Looking for reef clubs and groups to trade frags and stories with at our weekly meetings.

I'm from Montana fitt. Billings area. Just moved so I haven't got my tanks set back up yet. I'll have a 225 and a 150. My livestock is in a SW motel I set up in the basement of my house in Choteau, MT. I want to get them moved but I'm taking my time with the tanks because I want to do them right. Once you set these big babies up they're not moving.

Keep in touch, we can trade some frags or sumpin when I get back up.

dr ron is from livingston right over the pass from you. he has a blog about his daily life and in a mod on another forum. look around. by the way i love bozeman, my friend moved there in the late 90's and i would go up to visit him from time to time. also lived in w yellowstone for a winter. that was wild.

thanks for the posts guys. MCary I would lov eto trade out frags. We just started a fraga nd clam business to help advanced reefers in Montana (bozeman area mainly) get better service and better selection.

Glass for our frag tank is being ordered next week and I am very excited.

Hi fittdog,
I live in Livingston and I'm interested in obtaining frags etc. If your interested Ron Schimek is giving a class on setting up a reef aquarium, over here in Livingston, I can supply the details if your interested. Is there a reef club in existence already in Bozeman. I'm in the process of setting up a 160 sps, but right now just have a 50 gal I'm playing around with. MGB

I'll be getting a new airplane this summer, if you want we can get anywhere in the surrounding states in a day and pick up some great trades. I know Spokane has an active bunch of reefers and I worked in Kalispell and know of a club there.

I have a hotmail account thats no secret so write it down.

All this sounds great. MGB I am definitely interested in Ron's class. Please give me the details and I will be joining.

MCary - that would be great. I have just completed my applications for distributors so I should be gettting some pretty cool frags in the near future. My website will be ready soon and we should be ready in the couple of months to start selling some frags.

MGB. We have a very small club over here that we will also be trying to grow into some more members.

Glad to hear there are some reefers in the area.

I'm a little late finding this thread but I'm currently in the Billings area, although we may be moving to the Missoula/Hamilton area in the future.

Do any of you Montana people know of local stores which build glass aquariums? I would LOVE to get a bigger tank than my 72g bow, but the shipping costs to Montana are pretty steep.

MCary- I saw your other thread about the 225g tank....great find. Which hospital? One here in Billings?

Hey everybody! I just found this thread too and while I don't currently have a tank set up, I wanted to make sure I stay in touch.

I've been out of the reef hobby for a few years but have been feeling the itch to get back in for the past few months. So, I'm in the planning stages of a 150 plywood/glass tank.

I'm glad I happened across this thread and hope more of our fellow Montanans find it.

:eek2: Holy crapola!
Come on down to the south bay in Cali and we'll trade some frags AND have a pint some afternoon!
:p

Bumping this again to re-connect with some of these folks and hopefully find others in the Bozeman/Montana Area.

Would like to get Monthly or bi-Monthly Clubs going and rotate travel.

theres a guy in here called montanareefer lol that visits my rc heli forums as well

he has a sick sps tank

My Aunt lives in Bozeman. Almost went out there this January but she had to have some major back surgery around that time.

Hello everyone I live 45 mile west of Billings in Columbus. I am just starting out in this hobby, I am setting up a 125 gal as we speak. It would be nice to get in touch with some local reffers! I thought I was the only one here in MT lol

nicfo25, I moved again so I'm starting again to get my new monster, 30x30x72, 240 gallon I think, set up. Anywhooo, let me know if you need anything for your setup. I may have extra stuff laying around and I have a full woodworking shop if you plan on building a stand. I have no problem running to Columbus.

fittdog, I got married and had to give up flying, too expensive. But I'm setting up a new ******* 240 gallon tank. I'm planning on haveing a big frag operation. Not really for the purpose of selling or anything, I just want to have the corals encrust on the rocks before I put them in the tank this time. Tired of losing frags in the rockwork.

I've moved a couple of times and I'm starting all over from scratch, I'm at the point of finding where in the house I want the tank. That far back to the beginning. I'll keep an eye out for you guys.

PS, the astericks are not my foul mouth, it seems I had the gall to mention the brand name of my new tank.

MCary - I will be picking my tank up tomorrow, I think I have most everything I need except protein skimmer, RO/DI unit and a sump. ( which I'm going to try and build) I actually bought a cheap pine stand for the tank but would love to build one if I had time. I am on the downslope of a complete house remodel. I will definately let you know if I have any questions. Thanks
