Monti Cap Help

I have a Monti Cap that I have had for over a year now and in the last few weeks, I am getting STN first in small spots and now in a strip across the middle (Looks like skin is turning an opaque red and burning / peeling off). I have recently done 3 different things that may have affected it.

1. I started Bio-Optum and Bio-Digest about 4 weeks ago
2. I raised my Alk level from 8 to 9.5 (in anticipation of going on vacation and letting it drop across 3 days back to normal)
3. Raising Mag level to 1800 from 1380 in 2 weeks (Fighting a type of cup algae that won't go away.)

Does anyone have experience with any of the above?

I did stop dosing for the last 2 days and dropped my Alk back to 8 again. I will also be doing a water change to drop the mag down a bit tomorrow morning.

Any other suggestions?

Has anyone ever had a problem with their Monti Cap STN'ing?

Yes. They, like all sps don't like alk changes or any rapid changes.

How other coral doing? Monti kind of strong than other Acropora

Everything else is fine. Even another Monti (spongodes).
