Monti digi dying from the bottom up?

Never had a problem with this coral before but just got the frag few days ago tonight the bottom third of the frags polyps are closed and I'm pretty sure the tissue is recessing too. Everything else in the tank looks great including clam, monti cap, stylo, asst lps and softies. KH 12 CA 420 Mag 1250. Lit with illumagic LEDs. Any ideas?

No pics at the moment. One thing i remembered thats important i brought my alk up from 7 to 11 kinda harsh eh?

Ya that is a pretty big switch in alk, especially if that was in one day.

Just strange though cuz digi's are hardy you would think other things would be affected by it more than the digi.
