monti plate??

Hi Anthony,
I have a montipora plate. It grows very fast and looks great, with one possible issue. On the underside which is normally a tan color some spots have bare white (dead) patches. I think this must not be good but don't know why these patches are there or from what. Is this enough information for you to offer an opinion and possible remedy?

its tough to say what your montis ailments are symptomatic of without pics or more history.

If the spots are isolated, I have some concern that you may have added this or another creature into the tank without a proper quarantine period (really critical... please QT everything for 4 weeks prior to entry)... and subsequently have introduced a montipora eating nudibranch or flatworm (they are very very small).

Please do a keyword search on this website for many threads on the topic (montipora eating nudis or flatworms) and see if this helps.

Alas, I am not sure what more I can say with such a general description.
