Montipora Digitata Encrusting but branches not long

I bought a little Monti Digitata frag several months ago. Its growth is kind of weird. It has been encrusting on live rock very well but the original two branches have not seen much, if any, vertical growth. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Perfectly normal. Expect that encrusting to double before you get more verticle growth.

That would be cool. It may not look like it in the picture, but the Digi has a lot of room around it. Thanks.
