Montipora digitata owners beware - you're not safe from AEFW

My tank has AEFW, which of course stands for Acropora-Eating FlatWorms. A friend and I just began a treatment for the worms, and in doing so we identified the AEFW as well as their eggs on a large digi colony. I wish I would have taken a photo, but please trust me, they were there. Perhaps the name needs to be changed? Anyone else see AEFW or eggs on other montiporas?

"The killing" with the Fluke-Tabs is progressing nicely, and we have 100% coral viability. Will post pics in other ongoing threads (to which you are already subscribed, Stoney :) !).

I've had them on a monti cap. After fluke treatment for 1 month in a Q tank I'm having some issues in my display tank. I'm guessing it's more likely being caused by a shift in alkalinity in the tank after adding a dosing pump for 2 part and shifting from an average of 7dkh to about 10dkh. I've had a couple RTN's of 2-3" frags and a strange die off of chitons, about 6 or 7 found on the bottom curled up, a snail or two and today, 4 days after the chitons I found a couple large bristleworms dead. Most corals have good polyp extension and things appear to be recovering other than the couple RTN's and the odd animal die offs.

The only reason I stop to consider the fluke tabs at all is that two decent sized rocks that were heavily encrusted with acros were removed and placed in the fluke dip as a whole numerous times so perhaps a unspecified amount is soaked into the rock pores. This seems unlikely though as the system volume is 140ish gallons. Anyone seen behavior like this? Alkalinity shock? Fish seem fine as well. I'll start running carbon canister tomorrow and do that for a few weeks but thought I'd tag this on in addition to the confirmation about monti's and not just digi's.

Oh, CRAP! This is the first I've heard of this news. I have 3 caps in my tank that I did not remove, as they are encrusted along several different rocks on my aquascape, and there's no way I can remove them without tearing down my rocks. This is not good news at all. I hope your tank recovers, Tutmos.
