Hello,

The montiporas encrusting in my aquarium are growing with " blue peaks" under led lighting. The rest of The corals are ok.

My parameters are:

KH: 7
Ca: 450
Mg: 1.320
Ph: 8.3a
Temp: 78F
Photoperiod: 12 hours

Hoy can see the pictures:

I don't have any experience with spikes growing on montiporas. Your ALK seems a wee bit low. I had an ALK swing and half my stony corals developed bubbles under their flesh. Sometimes corals just do weird things.

Your monti looks fine. I agree that 7.0 is right on the edge of low. Might think of slowly raising it up a 1/2 point or so.

Looks like a very healthy M. tuberculosa of some type (i.e. pokerstar, rainbow, superman). They get those little spikes, called papillae, in good light and flow. They are supposed to be there :)

Yup, normal as can be.

6.5 dKh is normal NWS alkalinity and every SPS on the planet grows in it :bounce3:
