Just thought Id share the observations of this montipora I have had for a couple of years as it is a strange one

this thing is seriously a trip. If you touch it anywhere with your fingers no matter how gently, wherever your fingers touched will immediately turn stark white like you killed it in those spots....then come back like nothing ever happened a few days to a few weeks later.

A couple times, I have had one of the colonies(have a couple now) entire thing do the same thing due to reasons unexplained......think its toast but then again...it comes back

Anyone else have any super odd sps behavior like that??

here is the coral

I think maybe next time I have the camera out I will pick it up and take a pic of wheremy fingers touchd to show you Im not delusional. lol

I find my digitata very sensitive to touching as well and although it doesn go white it looses a lot of color fast when handled.

My ATL applebery(similar to your piece) is the same way. It also stresses really bad if it is exposed to air while doing a water change, which happens every time I change the water :-(. It comes back every single time tho, very odd coral.

ya...Ive got the atl appleberry and also a very similar appleberry verrucosa. This is kind of a very dingy version of either of them. That pic above is as bright as it gets.

I need to post some pics fo the fingerprints. lol

it would awesome to get a video of that. i wonder if the zooxanthellae push in or come off...?
