Montipora recommendation please

I'd like to add an encrusting Monti to my tank. I added a Purple Haze Monti about 9 months or so ago and it's been doing really well. I really like the look of encrusting Montiporas however I do not run a low nutrient system and would consider myself a coral noob. So I was wondering if some experienced reefers out there would recommend a Monti for me that is pretty hardy? I also don't have super strong light, 6 T5's over 65 gallons. I'd put the Monti at the top of the tank of course, but it is not going to get strong metal halide light.

If a Monti won't work, maybe something similar?

I have several monti and they are hardy in my opinion my fav encrusting monti is Seasons Greetings. I also run 6bulb t5 54watt and my monti are 6in off bottom of my 75 and growing fast so not sure if I would put it high up like you mentioned.

The ORA Mind trick is my favorite. I got a frag a few weeks ago and it is doing very well in my tank. If you are able to keep purple haze I believe this coral would do fine as well.

Another alternative is the superman. This one has been around for years. I had one in my last tank that grew to a very huge size and was a tank favorite of mine. I just need to track down a piece for my current tank

Most Montis are hardy and if you are growing one well you could probably have any other one . 6 bulb t5 it is great for most SPS in a 65 gls tank , It depends on water quality. I don't know if I would placed high up.

I would recommend Montipora setosa. Unlike most encrusting Montiporids, M setosa is fairly slow grower and because of that it will not dominate live rock.

I like the look of the sunset, but they are fast growers. Keep plenty of distance from other corals. Setosas are nice also, much slower growers, too.

You did not ask this, but also look at cyphastrea and lepastrea. Both are encrusting corals that come in all sorts of color varieties. My favorite encrusting monti is mystic sunset.

Sunset and Jedi mind trick are my favorite and they are hardy.
