I just got a beauty Monti Spongodis off a fellow reefer yesterday, it is acclimating in the bottom of my tank my ? is where do most people place theres and the amount of flow, I have read High light, mderate flow and also moderate to low light and low flow.

The tank it came from was 125G and it was about 10" from the surface with penductors and a tunze for flow and lit with 2 150w 14k phoenix bulbs and 1 10k and 1 actinic vho 4ft about 12'" off the surface

Oh any pics of anyones will be awsome also

Not a great pic, but here's a small frag that I had that encrusted itself pretty well. I had a rough time during a recent move and took nearly 2 months to recover from bleaching. It seems to do better at the bottom of the tank in good flow, but it will get purple tips under high light. This pic was taken ~15" below the water surface under 2x175W 10K and 2x39W T5 (actinic and blue+).

I have the same one as above but had it ID'd as a montipora vietnemensis
Often ID'ed as Montipora confusa too, IMO.

Why that's Mac's monti. :)

I had the same piece, and I've refered to it as Vietnamensis... often with a question mark.

In my experience, they'll take a lot of different fighting/flow patterns. Mine had pink highlights when placed up high in the tank, blasted with flow. Darker yellow/green down low.

I ended up losing mine to an 'anemone accident' though. :(

Yeah I have a piece that looks really similar to the first picture. My is on the sand bed under 400w raduims in a 24" deep tank. Getting a mustard-yellow shade out of it. Its in med-hi flow.

Heres an old picture of mine.

Wow so that' what my frag will grow up to look like a table kinda. It's amazing what frags can turn into. I always thought that it was going to branch.
